I did the unthinkable- I met James Franco!
I shall tell you the whole thing. :)
Ps— I brought my 3 pieces of art for James.
So I was lining up and guess who I came across? Fellow Tumblees! Aha so we talked the whole time. :) It was great. I wasn’t bored for a single second! (Ryan Gosling made a quick appearance as we were waiting. He peeped down from above).
So we got our tickets and they said we could come back before the interview starts but most people just wanted to wait to get their seats.
We ran to the second floor. When we arrived at the top, there was a huge crowd. And guess who it was for? James!
It was actually quite funny because I thought it was for Ryan Gosling, and so for some reason I wasn’t interested in seeing him and so I was just looking and fixing up a piece of yarn that fell off of my art (I was quite fixated on it :P) And then I hear Jackie and my cousin, Danita, just about yelling my name! I look up there James was. I could only see his back and he walked into the elevator. I was so stunned I just stood there, with my mouth open. He was wearing a striped blue sweater, and a blue hat. He looked quite dapper.
Then we lined up and waited for a couple hours. It was funny because people were taking pictures with my art! :P
And then- Hallelujah- we got in the Blackberry Lounge!
We all (tried) to take our seats. Me and my cousin ended up sharing a seat! :P
So after a few minutes, everyone started to yell and crowd, so we knew someone was there. And out came James! Glorious, glorious James! My heart literally has never gone that fast. Not even when I had to run for 12 minutes straight in gym class.
Everyone freaked out! My hands were shaking and I thought I was going to pass out. I kept telling myself “do not cry, James will think you’re crazy!”.
I was holding up my yarn poster for James to see. The 3 months leading up to meeting him (when I knew he was gonna be at Tiff, I called the Tiff line at least 5 times asking about the event and, for 5 days before, I spent every moment I could at the Tiff Bell Lightbox, incase James was there! I even skipped school just in case). I was almost hiding behind the picture. As he was sitting down, he looked! He smiled, pointed to it and said “Can I buy that?”. I was gonna pass out.
Then he answered some questions regarding Idaho. I love his answers. He doesn’t blow them off. His answers are so intelligent. He truly is passionate about art. (And I saw him glance at me! He killed me, again!). I couldn’t stop watching his face. He’s so mesmerizing! But I managed to take 150 pictures! XD
So then at the Q&A from the audience, it was so hard to think of a decent question! I wanted something that related to Idaho but I was drawing a blank. Finally I decided I would ask what he liked about directing. I knew that he has answered that 592735 times (as I have watched 2957159850 videos but I couldn’t think of a anything else!) But I also wanted to ask about Sammy and Zelda! But it was so extremely hard to remember the question. I forgot it about 4 times because my heart was beating so fast. I kept thinking through my head “favourite thing about directing and cats” “favourite thing about directing and cats”
They said the left side first, but I was in the middle so I put up my hand a little. They didn’t pick me. For the right side, I put my hand up again. But then on the glorious 3 time, I put my hand up a bit more and I’m proud to say that they choose me! So I said my question, but really I could barely talk. My voice was so shaky, in my mind I was like “What’s wrong with you!?” but I did manage to say it!
And guess what? James laughed! I made James Franco laugh! It was so cute! (Oh before when he had laughed, everyone was like awww).
He gave an amazing answer, as always. I just love that he doesn’t just blow off the question, he actually answers it to the fullest. (Again, James killed me). I couldn’t stop thinking “ohmygod James Franco is here and he’s looking at me, and he’s talking to me and I’m gonna pass out”
Then after a few more questions, it was over. I could barely breath. Throughout the entire event, I kept asking my cousin, when should I put up the art? When should I put up the art? james was so cute, he barely looked up at the audience (I think he was shy! :) He would just play with the table, or with his hat) So I picked up the collage portrait just in case James looked up at me. And he did!
This time he said something about being interested in them (and I now know he said “How do I buy those?”) but by that time I was about to have a heart attack. Then, by some miracle, I started talking to him. I explained to him what my painting was (Crazy! I still don’t know how I managed to do that). He told me he’s seen it before on the internet! Again, I feared I was gonna go into a coma. He made a motion to give my art to this guy so I handed to him, and James told him to “get her info” and I gave the guy my email, tumblr and name! It was so glorious and went by so fast!
And James was so sweet!
And next thing I know people are asking everything about it and congratulating me!
Today was most definitely the best day in my life- ever!
Here are some pictures I took:

PS I will make edits soon! Just have to have dinner :)
